For our office in Jinja Uganda, we are currently looking to recruit a detail oriented, highly motivated, organised, responsible, accurate, and experienced Finance manager. The Finance manageris responsible for the effectively and successfully leading the financial operations, and supporting strategic decision making. The finance manager oversees budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and administration, while following the organisation’s policies and procedures. The ultimate responsibility is to keep high standards of financial management and increase operational efficiency.

Cycling out of Poverty Foundation (CooP-Uganda) supports students, health volunteers, farmers and small entrepreneurs with bicycles to improve access to basic needs and services like education, health care, work and income. We believe that a bicycle makes a difference in this world and is a huge contributor to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Our mission is to improve livelihood of Ugandan families by making bicycles and other mobility aids (such as wheelchairs, bicycle ambulances and cargo bikes) accessible and available for everyone in Uganda.
The Job
We are looking for a finance expert who has experience in:
- Financial recording and general administration: Ensure compliance with local regulations and internal policies (including procurement); Optimize financial processes and implement best practices; Oversee day‑to‑day accounting activities within QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Financial management: Monitor cash flow, financial performance, and key KPIs
- Financial planning: Manage budgeting and forecasting processes
- Financial reporting: Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports; Oversee audits and liaise with external auditors
- Risk management: The Finance manager has one finance assistant, and reports to the General Manager.
Requirements
Are you interested in this position? Please take note of the following:
- A passion for cycling and conservation; must be able to ride a bicycle.
- Masters in finance and administration or its equivalent.
- A minimum of five years of experience in finance, including working on projects funded by donors such as GIZ, Enabel, EU, UN.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks software.
- Experience in leading internal and external audits.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a proactively diverse and inclusive organisation.
- Excellent, proven interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
- Proficiency with office computer equipment and software.
- Demonstrated ability to multi – task and work in a fast – paced office setting.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
