Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operation Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our water and sewerage systems, including planning, coordinating, and implementing operational activities.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement operational plans and strategies to ensure efficient and effective delivery of water and sewerage services.
• Coordinate and supervise the work of operation staff to ensure that all operational activities are carried out in accordance with established procedures and standards.
• Monitor and control the operation of water and sewerage systems to ensure that they are functioning properly and efficiently.
• Identify and report any operational problems or issues to management and recommend solutions.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure that operational activities are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
• Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, business administration, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the water and sewerage industry.
• Strong knowledge of water and sewerage systems, including planning, operation, and maintenance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of safety procedures and protocols.
• Ability to travel to different locations as required.
• Strong knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
• Ability to speak and write in English fluently.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Strong knowledge of Uganda's water and sewerage laws and regulations.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting and financial management.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people and build strong relationships.
• Strong knowledge of project management principles and practices.
• Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to the achievement of team goals.
