Assistant Chef

Ennovate Ventures Limited is hiring an Assistant Chef for Taste Naija Restaurant in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This is a full-time role in the Food & Beverage sector. The restaurant is seeking a reliable and motivated professional to support daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, order fulfillment, inventory management, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety. The ideal candidate should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment and support kitchen operations independently when required. Knowledge of Nigerian cuisine will be an added advantage.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the head chef in preparing and cooking a variety of dishes that meet the restaurant’s menu standards.
• Support the development and execution of new recipes and menu items.
• Help ensure the kitchen remains clean, organized, and compliant with food safety regulations.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies when needed.
• Support order fulfillment and daily kitchen operations.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and kitchen discipline.
• Prepare meals and support kitchen operations independently when required.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in a restaurant or commercial kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with Nigerian cuisine.
• Strong communication skills.
• Team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to prepare meals and support kitchen operations independently.
