Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Garment Technologist to join our Design Division , based at our Head Office in Cape Town . The successful candidate will be a technically strong, detail-oriented professional with a passion for retail and clothing manufacture. A proactive, energetic team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and continuously developing their technical expertise will thrive in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead fit sessions from initial sample through to final production.
  • Ensuring clear and concise fit comments are communicated to suppliers or factories.
  • Work closely with the Buying team to support the fit development process from a technical perspective.
  • Liaise with Design Division Garment Technologists, technical teams, operations managers, and planners to resolve quality issues Report, track, and manage quality issues arising at factories, including implementation and measurement of corrective action plans Provide mentoring and training support to CMTs and service providers to drive quality improvement Work closely with the Sample Room, including Pattern Makers and the Technical Manager, to support fit development Maintain knowledge of relevant regulations, legislation, and standards applicable to clothing manufacture

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar garment technology or quality assurance role
  • Experience in a clothing manufacturing or factory environment
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, trims, and embroidery
  • Experience in drafting and implementing quality assurance standards and manuals
  • Ability to manage and resolve quality queries with CMTs
  • Pattern making background (advantageous)
  • Willingness and ability to travel to suppliers’ manufacturing facilities (valid Code 8 driver’s licence required)
  • Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel
