Job Description
The training is designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and competencies required to deliver high-quality HIV testing services in both clinical and community settings. Using a competency-based approach, the course emphasizes practical mastery of essential skills. The training includes key objectives such as gaining a comprehensive understanding of HIV/AIDS and related health issues, developing effective counseling and communication skills for pre- and post-test sessions, learning and applying HIV testing procedures in line with national guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring accurate documentation and reporting of HIV testing services, and strengthening skills in linking clients to appropriate prevention, care, and treatment services.
Eligibility Criteria
- a minimum academic qualification of diploma in social or health sciences or a related field
- prior work experience in HIV/AIDS counseling or healthcare
- a strong interest in public health and counseling
Training Details
The training provides five days of supervised clinical practice and awards a NASCOP certificate upon successful completion.
