Job Summary:

The University Librarian is responsible for the overall management of the university library. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the library, including the acquisition, cataloging, and maintenance of library materials, as well as the provision of information services to students and staff.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the library collection, including the acquisition, cataloging, and maintenance of library materials.
• Provide information services to students and staff, including research assistance, instruction, and reference services.
• Develop and implement library policies and procedures.
• Supervise library staff, including librarians and support staff.
• Manage the library budget and ensure that it is used effectively.
• Collaborate with other university departments to promote the use of the library and its resources.
• Develop and implement programs to promote literacy and a love of reading among students and staff.
• Stay up-to-date with developments in library and information technology.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the University Librarian.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Library Science or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in a library setting.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
