We at Steel Structures Limited are looking for qualified MIG Welders who are experienced in fabricating and assembling steel components by interpreting blueprints, preparing materials, and performing precise MIG welding to meet quality standards. Key responsibilities involve operating welding equipment, inspecting finished welds, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Fabrication and assembly: Measure, cut, and assemble steel parts according to technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Welding: Perform skilled MIG welding on structural components, ensuring proper settings for the type and thickness of material.
  • Quality control: Inspect all welds for accuracy, strength, and compliance with specifications. Perform necessary repairs or filling.
  • Equipment operation: Operate hand and power tools, including grinders, as needed for preparation and finishing.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment to ensure it is in good working order. Maintain a clean and organised work area.

Requirements

  • Skills: Proficiency in MIG welding, ability to read and interpret blueprints, strong attention to detail, and good physical stamina.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of metal fabrication processes and safety regulations is crucial.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a welder or in a similar role is often required, though some positions may offer training for entry-level candidates.
  • Safety: A strong commitment to safety, including wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and following company policies.

Educational Qualifications

  • Artisan Certificate (Level 4 TVET CDACC):
  • Craft Certificate or Diploma in Welding and Fabrication (Level 6 TVET CDACC):
  • 2-3 years Experience as a Welder in Steel Plants.
