Bishop Stuart University (BSU) is a Faith-Based Christian University founded in 2002 by Ankole Diocese of the Church of Uganda. Fully accredited and chartered by His Excellency, the President of Uganda in 2014, the University is located in Mbarara City, Western Uganda. The Nurse provides high-quality clinical care and health services to students, staff, and the university community at the in-house University Clinic, promoting health, wellness and preventive care in line with professional nursing standards. Reports to the Clinical In-Charge.

Qualifications

• A Diploma or Certificate in Nursing from a recognized institution.
• Possession of current registration and a valid practicing license from the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council (UNMC) shall be an added advantage.

Requirements

• Genuine compassion and commitment to patient-centred care, with the ability to create a caring and supportive environment for students and staff.
• Strong clinical skills in patient assessment, treatment, emergency response, and health education.
• Alignment with Christian values, emphasizing compassion, integrity, ethical practice, respect for human dignity, and holistic care of body, mind, and spirit.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle patients with empathy, confidentiality, and professionalism.
• Commitment to inclusive and culturally sensitive care for a diverse university community.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, maintain composure in emergencies, and collaborate well with the Clinical In-Charge and other healthcare team members.
• At least two (2) years of clinical nursing experience in a busy health facility or clinic setting.
