Job Advert Summary:

Conducts effective maintenance planning of both ongoing schedules and for shutdowns. Supervises and coordinates daily work order generation, return, completeness, and capture. Monitors and reports system adherence to best practice requirements. Analysing and timeously reporting condition monitoring alarms in the system. Takes part in the root cause analyses and closure of problem areas. Generates daily, weekly, month end and year end departmental reports. Takes part in departmental audits.

Minimum Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS: Engineering Qualification (Min. National Certificate) EXPERIENCE: Technical maintenance and plant Engineering. (Min 3 years). Planning department in cement or other industry. Strong leadership, decision making and interpersonal skills. Planning of major shutdown. Long term (5 year) planning of budget, resource smoothing. Maintenance planning for large equipment SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Driver’s License. EMS, QMS, On key and other System Skills Physical Requirements KEY COMPETENCIES: Internal Stakeholders - Promote a culture of customer-centric service delivery and engagement with internal customers. Promote effective communication with internal users and convey improvement opportunities to all internal stakeholders. Promote accurate and relevant data entry into the ON KEY system. External Stakeholders - Liaise with external contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders. Departmental Budgeting - Provide input to departmental budget (Plan 0 and Plan 1) Special Maintenance - Provide input to the Special Maintenance (SM) budget. Ensure Workorders can be traced to the correct cost centres within the ERP system. CAPEX Management - Ensure Work orders are accurate in respect of CAPEX allocation. Ensure Workorders can be traced to the correct cost centres within the ERP system. OM Management - Optimise maintenance cost against plant reliability and availability. Ensure user and resources attributes are correct in the system (resource rates). Monitor functional overheads. Ensure that requisitions are correctly processed against cost centres. Competency Management and People Development - Establish developmental needs within the department in support of the ACP and execution of the planning function. Coach subordinates to comply with the required work standards. Performance Management - Promote shop-floor decision making and initiative. Foster a culture of Continuous Improvement. Employee Relations - Create a positive working environment and manage conflict.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Business Intelligence - Analyse system history and failure data. Functional Strategy and Planning - Manage and oversee the 5 year Asset Care Plan (ACP) for the plant - all major asset replacements, renewals, maintenance and disposals (Asset Life Cycle). Review the previous shutdown post-mortem, Plan and create a shutdown event in ON KEY with input from the Foreman and Technical Specialist. Create workorders and requisitions for each event and print the job-cards. Liaise with the Foreman on the allocation of workorders for the purposes of resource levelling, taking resource availability and job duration into account. Conduct a shutdown post-mortem with the Foreman and Technical Specialist. Ensure that the plan has minimum impact on production run-time. Run the due and backlog list to take advantage of maintenance opportunities during Urgent and Non-urgent maintenance. Create and maintain a six month planning horizon, as well as a three week resource plan. Create spares requisitions in the system for pro-active maintenance. Plan and schedule follow-up work-orders for Planned and un-planned jobs, as well as work arising from the Temporary Change process Ensure postponed workorders are re-scheduled and completed. Generate and circulate weekly and monthly reports Execution of Maintenance - Optimise the department's core internal processes. Operational Control - Ensure that data is captured into ON KEY and that the data is correct, accurate and relevant. Create a monthly log (ON KEY) for resource Intangible Time booking. Ensure that Intangible time is captured by the Planning Clerks. Administer the ON KEY approval change process and liaise with requesters, the PPC Helpdesk and the Admin Manager. Communication and Reporting - Provide input into interdepartmental INVOCOMs. Ensure that the correct, accurate and timeous key metrics feed into the weekly OPS reports. Report factors, incidents and accidents that pose a business risk. Monitor and evaluate control reports (month-end and Ad-Hoc), as well as KPIs. Governance and Risk Management - Adhere to legal, IMS, statutory and regulatory structures and frameworks and promote a culture of compliance. Comply with JAP and other Ad-Hoc audit requirements and implement corrective actions. Inventory Management - Raise requisitions for work-orders being planned to mitigate delays in execution. Contractor Management - Create requisitions for Engineering contractors and contract labour, link to the responsible sections/jobs and allocate workorders to contract personnel.
