Purchase manager

We are seeking a results-driven and detail-oriented Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement operations, optimize raw material supply chains, and manage vendor relationships. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring material availability, negotiating competitive terms, and maintaining optimal stock levels to support uninterrupted production.

Key responsibilities:

• Purchase Planning: managing the purchase of raw materials according to the production plan and maintaining a minimum/security stock level.
• Suppliers management: cooperate with all potential suppliers in Uganda for each raw material, negotiate about terms of cooperation – payment terms, prices, delivery, and quality; develop relationships with key suppliers.
• Prices/tender management: routinely provide information about market prices of raw materials.
• Purchase budgeting: preparation and presentation of purchasing needs for each week.
• Stock management: stock of raw material and critical items, turnover of each raw material.
• Payment terms management

Main goals:

• 1. Availability of raw materials in time.
• 2. Quality of raw materials according to approved standards.
• 3. Maintain credit terms for all suppliers
• 4. Manage the best price level possible on the Uganda market.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field.

Experience:

2–3 years of proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role (manufacturing or production sector experience is an added advantage).

Skills:

Strong negotiation, analytical problem-solving, market research, and inventory management skills.
