About the Role
Our client, a leading pharmaceutical distribution and healthcare solutions company, is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to drive business growth and market expansion across Uganda. We're looking for a commercially driven professional with strong experience in pharmaceuticals, consumer health, consumables, and/or medical devices, with a strong focus on key account management. The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving ambitious sales targets while building and managing strategic relationships across the healthcare sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive achievement of sales targets across assigned product portfolios and territories
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans for sustainable market growth in Uganda
- Manage and grow key accounts across the healthcare ecosystem
- Build and maintain strong relationships with:
- Retail pharmacies
- Clinics and healthcare providers
- Institutional clients (public and private hospitals)
- Lead key account management strategies to ensure retention, growth, and customer satisfaction
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the pharmaceutical, consumer health, and medical device sectors
- Strengthen distributor and strategic partner relationships
- Drive market penetration for consumables and healthcare products
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform sales decisions
- Prepare sales forecasts, performance reports, and account reviews
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, marketing, and regulatory affairs
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Business Administration, Marketing, Medical Sciences, or related field
- 8–10 years’ experience in pharmaceutical sales
- Strong experience in one or more of the following:
- Pharmaceutical products
- Consumer health (OTC) products
- Medical consumables
- Medical devices
- Proven experience in key account management (KAM) within the pharma sectors
- Strong track record of achieving sales targets and managing large customer portfolios
- Experience managing retail, institutional, and hospital sales channels
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills
- Solid understanding of the Uganda pharmaceutical and healthcare market
