Job Description

  • Should have a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Should have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Applicants must have a minimum of at least 6 years of relevant experience in Engineering works and construction.
  • Should be a registered Engineer is an added advantage
  • Must be a person of strong faith, integrity and a committed Christian
  • Overseeing the University constructions, installations and fixings; supervising Building & Civil Engineering Estates teams, Technicians, Craftsmen and external Contractors employed by the University to ensure that, buildings, roads and their Electro-mechanical services, equipment & assets are in good working conditions.
  • Ensuring that Planned Preventative Maintenance Systems are put into operation and carried out in a timely manner for proper maintenance and safe custody of University facilities and equipment under your jurisdiction.
  • Planning, supervising and managing technical activities of the estates unit.
  • Advising the University management, on procurement of construction materials, sanitary facilities and equipment required for the activities of the estates unit.
  • Drawing budgets, estimates and bills of quantities for construction repairs and renovations as may be required by management.
  • Advising the University management in procuring technical services such as sourcing or invitation, analysis and selection of Bidders for Works; carrying out organization and planning activities as required necessary to enable the estates department to execute designated tasks.
  • Coordinating and liaising with Statutory Regulators, Consultants, Contractors and external Company representatives providing technical services related to infrastructure maintenance & development to the University.
  • Provision of advice and guidance on design concepts & proposals for structures, the sourcing & procurement of consultants to provide design services such as Architectural, structural, Mechanical, Engineering Drawings, and Bills of Quantities; for purposes of budgeting & implementation of construction projects of the University.
  • Advising management on decision making as regards completion and approval of works done by Contractors before payments can be effected.
  • Provide monthly reports on office work.
  • Coordinate appropriate technologies like ISSB, Estates, Faculty Innovations and turn them into business for the University.
  • Any other duty that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
